First of all, I want to say that I do think this store is lovely, and despite the fact that I have waited in line for a good period of time while associates chit chat upfront and straight up IGNORE you, I always find really nice things at this location. I am however quite concerned about their management and a very recent experience I had (today) with their hiring process. After interviewing for an associate position last Wednesday, I was offered a job contingency - my interviewer (Karen) said that at this time she could most certainly offer me a job, and that she had to call my references and previous employment at Marshalls to make sure I was able to be rehired (over the weekend). The following Monday - two days ago - I received a phone call from Karen asking if I "was still on board?" I said yes. Over the phone she gave me the job and told me to show up at that location on Wednesday (today) for training from 5-9pm. I was excited that I got the job. On Tuesday (yesterday) I received a phone call from Karen saying that I came up in her system as "un-hirable." She asked me to explain how I left. I explained to Karen that three years previous I had taken a medical leave of absence within the company at Marshalls, and that I had a conversation with a manager that worked there who asked me, "Do you think you came back to work too soon?" To that I said yes. My manager at Marshalls was concerned about my ability to preform my job well at that time. I explained to Karen that I did and do not understand how having to leave my job due to a medical illness and due to the fact that doctors and I could not foresee when I would be able to go back to work would result in being "un-hirable." From what I understood, my managers were sympathetic to what I was going through and wished me well. Karen told me she was going to try and change what was in the system so I could go to my first day of training (today). Today I called Karen and she said, since in the system it says you are not hirable, we are going to have to part ways, and I am going to have to take back my offer of employment. I have a BIG problem with this. This is so unprofessional. You do not offer a job to some one in person and then again over the phone when you have not done the work that she was supposed to do over this past weekend. During that time period she was SUPPOSED to have figured all of that out. Instead, she got sloppy and very unprofessional. You do NOT offer someone a job and ask them to show up for training BEFORE you make necessary phone calls. I am absolutely disheartened and humiliated by this experience. The amount of unprofessionalism is unbelievable. I will not be letting this go. I will be taking this to corporate and HR.
lol I go in there alllll the time and no one has ever been rude to me at all. Actually they have always been so nice and friendly and helpful. Always an amazing selection and great deals. There was maybe one time where the selection wasn't great but I'm sure that's because they sold everything and then just were waiting for a new shipment.
Clean store, polite and friendly staff, wide variety and selections of most everything you need. Always treated the same as any other customer . Although lines can get a bit long the staff always has that in mind and calls for additional help when it is needed, which makes things move quickly.
You can always find good things in here. The staff is a little rude though.
Friendly, helpful staff. Always different fun items reasonably priced
